We are pleased to announce that our Red Deer Training Centre (RTC), RF Lab has completed a review of the Windows 11 OS for use with the Kestrel TSCM Professional Software. Users can now utilize the latest operating system with the Kestrel TSCM Professional Software. There are a few important issues that will need to be addressed particularly with a fresh installation, or on a new computer activation. It is essential that the new “S” mode be disabled on the host computer to allow the Kestrel TSCM Professional Software to be installed. The “S” mode blocks the installation of all applications that are not downloaded from the Microsoft Store. This is an unacceptable option given the potential access to the software by unauthorized entities or people. Therefore the application will be available for download from the Technical Support Group (TSG) Resource Centre, or our North and South America distributor secure website by authorized technical operators only. It is also strongly recommended that the operator change the “Sign In With a Microsoft Account” to a “Local Account” after the installation or upgrade is complete. The process of downloading and upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 proved to be an easy transition. On one RF Lab PC, the download took just over an hour to complete and was ready for restart. Only one of our computers provided the option to directly upgrade the OS using the “Windows Update Tool”, with all others simply indicating that the the machines would run the Windows 11 OS, but advised we would be notified when the upgrade was available. Microsoft provides a Windows 11 OS upgrade assistant to immediately download and upgrade the machine to the Windows 11 OS. It is essential that the host computer meet the requirements for the Windows 11 OS. Our recommendation is that it is safe to upgrade to Windows 11 OS for use on Kestrel TSCM Professional Software host computers. The Windows 11 OS user-interface is a cleaner design and makes use of a clean menu structure with a menu option to expand the menu for items that are not utilized often.
